KFCC and CC have together set out a value system of mission, vision, and core values that will guide all of them at CC and KFCC to work together to achieve their objective of creating sustainable long-term value for all their members and other stakeholders. Since its founding in 1973, KFCC has aimed to be a trusted partner for CCs. Its founding purpose is to guide and supervise the management of CCs, and thus to promote common interests. In addition to guiding and supervising CCs, KFCC regulates the CCs' operational funds, in effect as their central bank, as well as offering insurance for CCs and their members. It also manages depositor protection reserve funds in order to protect members' deposits and installment deposits, and provides training to CCs and their employees. KFCC undertakes PR campaigns which raise awareness of CCs. Another important task for KFCC is to leverage its development experience in Korea to strengthen relationships with international cooperative organizations. KFCC also conducts surveys and research on the financial and economic environment at home and abroad, and undertakes international development and cooperation projects that help the voluntary establishment of CCs in developing countries.
